RE-IMAGINING INTERGENERATIONAL
CHRISTIAN VALUES & BELIEFS PROGRAM

Welcome to the Second Episcopal District's Reimagining Intergenerational Christian Values and Beliefs Program sponsored by the Lilly Endowment, Inc. (LEI) and under the direction of Bishop Harry L. Seawright, Presiding Prelate of the Second Episcopal District.

We are extremely excited to share this initiative with you because it is vital that we, as Christians, Christian educators, clergy and lay, members and leaders continue to teach and promote the Christian values and beliefs that inspire, impact, and influence members of every generation.

The program under the leadership of the SED team, and with support from LEI, will span a minimum of three years. This timeframe will allow us to significantly create programs and projects that will positively acknowledge and affirm churches, congregants, communities, families, households, caregivers, and individuals in a manner that breeds discipline for spiritual maturity and develops lifestyle enhancements.

APRIL CHALLENGE

Easter proclaims that death does not have the final word. The resurrection of Christ brings hope, restoration, and new beginnings. As spring awakens the earth, we are reminded that God is always at work bringing life from what once seemed dormant.

This month, we celebrate both the risen Christ and the renewal of creation, committing ourselves to spiritual growth and faithful stewardship of the Earth.

April begins during Holy Week, with Easter falling on the first Sunday of the month. In 1 Corinthians 15:20, Christ is described as the “first fruits” of the resurrection—signifying both promise and fulfillment.
The concept of first fruits also reflects renewal, growth, and the reawakening of life seen in springtime.

April is also recognized as Earth Month. Therefore, April 2026 offers a powerful opportunity to reflect on both the resurrection of Christ and the renewal of creation.

MARCH CHALLENGE

March is recognized as Women’s History Month—a time to honor and celebrate the contributions of women from every culture and in every sphere of life. This year, March is especially meaningful for Christians as it falls during the Lenten season—a time of reflection, repentance, renewal, and preparation.

As we journey through Lent, we are reminded that every person is created with divine intention and purpose. Psalm 139:14 declares that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made,” and Ephesians 2:10 affirms that we are God’s workmanship, created for good works. These truths invite us to reflect on the value, dignity, and calling of women in both biblical history and our present lives.

NEW INTERGENERATIONAL
LENTEN DEVOTIONAL

Intergenerational Lenten Season Devotional

“Drawing Near to God: Reflect, Repent, Renew”

The Lenten season is a sacred period in the Christian calendar that invites us to slow down, look inward, and draw closer to God.

The purpose of the Lenten season is to intentionally draw closer to God as we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter.

Journey with us and take this sacred time to grow deeper in prayer, reflection, and renewal as we prepare our hearts for Resurrection Sunday. Let us draw nearer to God together.

February Challenge

February is known as Black History Month. It is a time to remember who we are, whose we are, and that our contributions helped build America and the World. This month, we aim to examine themes that support our contributions to society, the traps we must avoid because of the melanin in our skin, the need to believe that there is always more than meets the eye when considering God's creation, and the importance of faith and education.

After viewing the movie, participate in the Sarah’s Oil Discussion Questions (button below). Essays, poems, pictures, etc. should be submitted to the Reimagine website via email info@reimagineigc.org
