Three Generations

Intergenerational

Throughout its history, the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AMEC) has implemented Christian Education ministries and programs for every generation, with a focus on children and youth.

Though the AMEC continues to believe that families and caregivers must raise their children and encourage their dependents and families to mature in the Christian faith, we are keenly aware that our methods must change to reflect 21st century realities.

Because of the changing landscape, of caregivers and families, this program reimagines how Christian teaching and modeling will occur.

  • Providing life enriching holistic Christian programs and services that empower caregivers, parent and leaders to adopt Christian parenting and empowerment as their lifestyle.

  • Establishing family ministries where the church intends to assist parents and caregivers as they instill valued faith practices in their children and households.

Implementation

Within each of our local churches, there are systems and ministries.  As part of this initiative, the program will integrate programs and activities to enhance Christian teaching and parenting capacities.

There will be ten regional coordinators to oversee program implementation.  Twenty churches, selected because of accessibility, usable space and technological capacity, will serve as a resource centers.  This structure allows us the insight and flexibility to scale
the program in a precise manner that augments as resource centers.
